Midweek Message ~ January 1st, 2020
If you read my midweek messages you know I usually end each message saying “Keep Spurring,” (Hebrews 10:24) The writer of Hebrews tells us in chapter 10 that Jesus came to die in our place so that our sins are forgiven and once forgiven, God remembers our sins no more. Forgiveness means that our slate is wiped clean and we are given a new beginning. We get a fresh start. Today we are all on the verge of a new beginning, a new year, 2020. With the new year we once again have the opportunity for a fresh start.
In 10:23-25, the writer gives us a challenge when he says that since we have been made right with God let us hold on without wavering to the hope we have in Jesus. Let us motivate each other on to love and good deeds (Spur one another on). Let us keep meeting together as the family of God and let us keep encouraging one another.
God has provided the way for us to have a new beginning. It is up to us to accept it. My hope for each of you is that this new year brings us closer to God and closer together as the family of God.
God bless you all and as always, “Keep Spurring.”
