Midweek Message 3-14-2018

I want to encourage you to take the time to read through the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and as you do notice how much time Jesus spent meeting the needs of other people.  About the only thing that is recorded about Jesus was that when he was tired he would get in a boat with the disciples and go to the other side of the lake hoping to rest.  It seems though that rest hardly ever came because a crowd was always following Him and someone in the crowd needed help.  When the crowd was hungry, He fed them, when a man was blind, He gave him sight, when a leper asked for healing, Jesus reached out and touched him and his skin was clear.  When four men brought their lame friend to Jesus, he gave his legs strength and he got up and walked.  Miracle after miracle took place, need after need was met and as a result many believed in Jesus as the Son of God.  Jesus spent His three year ministry serving others.  Some might be tempted to say it would be easier to believe if they could have seen Jesus do all these things, but the Bible says even though many saw these miracles, they still didn’t believe that Jesus was the promised Messiah, the Son of God.  In fact, Jesus told his disciple, Thomas, you believe in me because you see me, blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.  The gospels give us a clear picture of the compassion Jesus had for others.  Let His compassion be ours.  Jesus said, “If we want to find real life, we will lose our life serving and helping others.”  God bless you all and “Keep Spurring each other on.”  Louis
