Midweek Message 3-28-2018

Have you ever been thirsty, I mean really thirsty, so thirsty you could spit cotton as the old saying goes.  How different would our lives be if we had a spiritual thirst like that?  Jesus said in Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled.”  We can be filled and fulfilled spiritually because Jesus was willing to go to the cross and die in our place for the forgiveness of our sins.  This week we give thanks not only that Jesus took our place but that God raised Him back to life and because He lives, we can live forever.  Because He lives, we can face tomorrow.  Because He lives, we have a sure Hope, a promise of eternal life.  When Jesus was thirsty and he met the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, he said to her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is who says, give me a drink, you would have ask Him, and He would have given you Living Water.”  Then Jesus said, “whoever drinks the water I give him shall never thirst, it will be like a well of water springing up to eternal live.”  (John 4:10-14).  Are you spiritually thirsty?  God sent His son, Jesus, to die for you & I and then raised him back to life so that our spiritual thirst could be quenched.  Come Sunday to Sunrise service at 7 and service at 10 to celebrate God’s gift of His Son.  God bless and “Keep Spurring.”  Louis
