Out in the Pasture with Pastor Louis from Aug 10th, 2022

Some of you may not have ever heard of the accomplished musician named Tommy Dorsey. Dorsey was a good man and a believer.  He was married and expecting his first child. As he was about to go on stage one night, he received a telegram that his wife had just died in childbirth, as well as, the baby.

Through his sadness and grief, he remained faithful to God and in 1932 wrote the hymn, “Precious Lord Take My Hand.”  Here are some of the words:

“Precious Lord, take my hand. Lead me on, let me stand. I am tired, I am weak, I am worn. Through the storm, through the night, lead me on to the light, take my hand Precious Lord, Lead me home.”

Someone is tired tonight. Someone is worn out from the storms of life.  Jesus cares. In Matthew 11:28-30 NLT, He said these words:

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear and the burden I give you is light.”

God bless and “Keep Spurring.”
Louis
