We all know that God teaches us in His word that sin is wrong. Sin is anything that goes against God’s standard for living and anything that does not please God. The Bible also teaches us that because of God’s grace and mercy, He forgives us when we ask and He wants us to turn away from sin. Apparently in the early church there were those that believed that grace gave them the excuse to keep practicing some of their old sinful ways of life. In Romans 6: 1-2 Paul addresses this when he says, ” Should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of His wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? It is pretty easy to see that what Paul says is right. Someone said that the most confusing message that we can give the lost and dying world is to live in sin and at the same time tell people about the transforming power of Jesus to change their lives. Come Sunday and we will look at a church that was loyal to Jesus and His teaching but they were tolerating some in the church who were teaching that it was alright to compromise with sin because of grace.
God bless you all and “Keep Spurring.”
