midweek message

You have heard me say that I have been reading out of Penny’s Bible the last couple of weeks.  It makes me feel glad and sad as I read the notes she wrote and read the Bible verses that she underlined.

Penny wrote in the very front of her Bible these words, “Who you are is more important than what you are.”  I’ve been thinking about those words lately and I want to share a little of what they say to me.  When I apply them to my life this is how they speak to me.

Before coming to pastor PCCC, most of you know I worked at First Financial Bank in Aledo.  My job was to manage the day to day operation of the bank, oversee the employees and make loans. That is what I did, but who I was then as a person was much more important. Was I honest, did I treat my employees and customers with respect? Did I do my best to represent Godly character in all of my dealings? I hope that was who I was then and who I am today.

I will be back bringing God’s word to you on the 28th. I’m working on a message that involves three men in the Bible in Acts 10 and 11.  They are Peter the apostle of Jesus, Cornelius a Roman soldier, and Barnabas a partner with Paul spreading the gospel of Jesus. I hope you will begin reading about these men and see who they were as a result of being true followers of Jesus.

God bless you all and thank you for all of the kindness and support you have shown in the last months.

“Keep Spurring.”
