midweek message

I have spent the last days thanking God for getting me through this tough time in my life. If I haven’t told you, I thank you also for being so kind and supportive. It hasn’t been easy, but with God’s help, we can get through anything, right?

Sunday my message will come primarily from Romans 11 & 12. In verse 33 Paul tells the church in Rome what a wonderful God we have. He says everything comes from God and everything lives by God’s power. Then in the beginning of chapter 12, Paul pleads with them to give God their bodies [their very lives] to God  as a sacrifice for what He has done in their lives.

So the question:  “What has God done for you?” How has he changed your life?  Are we becoming that new creation He talks about? Are we becoming that different person since we ask Jesus to come into our lives?

In the Old Testament in the book of Ezekiel chapter 36, God promises the Israelites that if they will turn back to Him,  He would give them a new heart. He says He will remove the old stony heart of sin and replace it with a heart of love.

My prayer for us today is first, we receive Jesus, then we acknowledge how good God is to us and we begin to let Him change us into the person He intended us to be. “God give me a new and clean heart, and in return I will give you my life, all of it.”

God bless you and see you Sunday.  “Keep Spurring.”
