Midweek Message ~ September 2nd, 2020
I want to ask you a question. What is troubling you today?
Many of us are troubled by the direction our country seems to be headed. We are troubled by the violence, we are troubled & tested because so many have suffered illness and material loss. Maybe you are troubled with sin in your life. You know it’s wrong, but you’ve let it take over your life. Some may be facing a situation that is bigger than you can handle. The thought may cross our mind that God does not see our problems or maybe He is ignoring us. You are not alone when these thoughts cross our mind.
Isaiah writes in chapter 40 that the Israelites felt the same way. In verse 27 he asks, “How can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? How can you say He ignores us?” In verse 28-31, we find reassurance that God sees our situation. He knows our troubles. He is our Creator. He never grows tired or weary and He understands what we are facing. The chapter ends with these words of Hope, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength, they will soar on wings like eagles.”
David wrote in Psalms 40, “I waited patiently for the Lord to help me and he turned to me and heard my cry, He lifted me out of the pit of despair.” I want to encourage all of us to trust God, wait patiently for His help and when we do, Hope comes and Hope does not disappoint.
God bless you all, “Keep Spurring” and see you Sunday.
